Logistics and Inventory Specialist
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Logistics and Inventory Specialist to oversee our supply chain operations and ensure meticulous accuracy in our inventory management. This dual-focus role involves managing transportation planning, import shipping, and 3PL providers alongside conducting regular physical inventory audits and reconciling discrepancies. The ideal candidate blends deep knowledge of warehouse management and ERP systems with a proactive approach to continuous process improvement, root-cause problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
Core Responsibilities:
· Coordinate warehouse distribution, shipping, receiving, and cross-functional supply chain execution to meet daily operational demands.
· Conduct regular physical inventory counts, perform internal audits, and meticulously reconcile stock discrepancies to ensure record accuracy.
· Manage import shipping activities, source carriers, plan container loads with overseas vendors, and oversee ocean freight logistics.
· Utilize ERP platforms (SAP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for order processing, freight management, and logging inventory transactions.
· Perform root cause analysis on supply chain disruptions or significant inventory variances, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
· Analyze data and inventory turnover rates using Excel, SQL, and supply chain analytics tools to forecast demand, identify trends, and optimize stock levels.
· Monitor trade compliance and ensure all logistics and inventory control procedures align with company policies and international trade regulations.
· Collaborate with production planning, procurement, and warehouse staff to train teams on inventory best practices and evaluate control systems for continuous improvement.
· Maintain accurate documentation related to vendor contracts, 3PL provider relationships, and adjustments to inventory levels.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Certified Internal Auditor or CPA designation is a plus).
· Strong proficiency with ERP platforms (specifically SAP), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
· Advanced data analysis skills utilizing SQL, Excel, and dedicated supply chain analytics tools.
· Proven track record in an inventory auditing, logistics coordination, or similar role within the retail, manufacturing, or logistics industry.
· Deep understanding of international trade compliance, shipping regulations, e-commerce logistics, and inventory control principles.
· Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma to drive cost reductions and workflow efficiency.
· Excellent cross-functional communication, negotiation, and time-management skills.
· Strong ethical standards with the ability to work independently to conduct detailed physical counts and maintain accurate compliance records.
